1971 340 Auto Plymouth Duster

This is a 1971 Duster that was painted by a restoration shop in Ontario. I've come on board to finish what they started. It will be my job to sort through the job they've done and finish the interior and exterior trim.
Once I removed the dash and everything else from the interior, it was time for the big task of cleaning up all the blasting media left behind in every nook and cranny by the restoration shop.
With the dash completely apart I can start the restoration. I started by welding up 26 extra holes drilled out from it's racing days.
As you can see with the pedal BEFORE pictures this car is an original 4spd, but has been running an automatic transmission for years. For a cleaner and less cluttered look I'm installing a factory automatic brake pedal!
The owner wants a clean original look without at the racing parts, I opted to remove the grant steering wheel with line lock switch in favor of a new reproduction "Tuff Grip" wheel from DALE'S CUDA SHOP ....real nice piece.
Starting to get anxious for the re-assembly, I decided to go to the owners house and do what I could in his garage.
Got most of the firewall stuff done, some exterior trim and the biggest job was lying down forty square feet of sound deadener.
This should really help keep the noise down and the fumes out !
Ok, so it's the first of July. The car has now been moved to my shop so I can finish the job.
I think I'll start by putting on the driver's side stripes now that I can get at it....LoL
Ok, blacked-out the rad support, restored the headlight wire harness and installed everything.
I was able to get a nice set of re-chromed bumpers while I was at Carlisle from Tri-City Plating, nice stuff !
Well, I'm just about done this project. I've finished installing a complete new interior and the exterior is done with the exception of the front windshield. Hope to get the new gasket soon, windshield installed and it's off to the next project !
